About Us
Southern Grace Angelic Gowns, a recognized 501c3 nonprofit organization, transforms donated wedding dresses into burial garments, known as Angelic Gowns, for babies that are stillborn or die shortly after birth. These Angelic Gowns are given to grieving parents at no charge through hospitals, funeral homes and individual family requests. No request is ever denied! SGAG operates solely on donations. We supply gowns in 5 sizes, a tiny Angel Pocket for those babies that are under a pound and too fragile to dress all the way up to full term babies.
We provide a complete layette which consists of an Angel Gown, bonnet and blanket. One parent has told me they chose to keep the blanket because “it’s the only thing we have that she had with her and it gives us comfort.” This is why we do this! Not only do we provide the layettes, I provide a shoulder for these Mamas to cry on anytime they need me. I started SGAG as a way of healing my own heart after saying goodbye to my own angels, Marianna and Robby, so I know the entire gamut of emotions they are feeling.
We take the burden off grieving families so they aren't trying to figure out how they will find burial clothing for their tiny Angel. We ease that worry and offer a lifetime of friendship and shoulder to cry on, if needed. Many of our recipients reach out to us to either thank us or just needing to talk and sometimes both. We stay involved with each Angel family for as long as they need us.
